Our Pharmacy department at Guildford Hospital currently has an opportunity for a pharmacy assistant.
Working with leading consultants, we offer a wide range of complex surgery, and services for preventing, diagnosing and treating many medical conditions. Our fifty room ward provides care for patients undergoing a range of operations and procedures. In addition, we provide inpatient palliative care and also have four acute dependency beds to support the needs of higher dependency patients. The working atmosphere is highly professional, yet friendly and collaborative. Easily accessible from the A3 or M25, we’re about 1.5 miles from the town center.

The opportunity
* Within the hospital pharmacy department, as our Pharmacy Assistant you will: monitor stock levels to maintain appropriate inventory.
* Assist with procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems.
* Receive goods, checking against purchase orders and delivery notes, dealing with issues or anomalies and escalating appropriately.
* Review invoice queries as necessary.
* Assist in dispensing medicines accurately, selecting the correct quantity, assembling, labelling and processing them in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
The person
* Good standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy.
* Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills / GPhC recognised equivalent qualification or ability to work towards a qualification, to be commenced within 3 months of employment and completed within an agreed timescale.
* Some experience within a pharmacy environment or healthcare background.
* IT skills.
* Good communication skills.
