Job Title: Digital Communications Intern

Purpose of the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Communications Intern to join the Marketing & Communications team at Worcestershire County Cricket Club. The role is perfect for someone looking to gain practical experience working in sports and the successful candidate will be tasked with supporting matchday digital communications for Worcestershire Rapids Men’s & Women’s games as well as creating engaging digital content while supporting the wider marketing & communications strategy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Being physically present to support matchday digital communications for all Worcestershire Rapids Men’s home games in the Vitality Blast T20 including creating content across social media channels and support matchday activations.
• Being physically present to deliver matchday digital communications for all Worcestershire Rapids Women’s home & away games in the Vitality Blast T20 and Metrobank One Day Cup including posting live match updates across social media channels, writing and uploading match reports and handling post-match interviews with players & coaches.
• Creating engaging Women’s Cricket content across Worcestershire’s social channels including match previews, highlight videos, training and player led content.
• Work closely with Digital content executive & media officer to manage content calendar including creating and scheduling posts.
• Building relationships with key stakeholders within the club, including the playing squad & coaches.
• Work closely with digital marketing executive to develop and activate fan engagement initiatives and data capture around matchdays.
• To ensure the Club’s equality, diversity and inclusion policy and standards are always upheld and always abide by the Club’s code of conduct.
• To ensure the Club’s safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times including adherence to the staff code of conduct and consistently advocating the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk at all times. The nature of our work and the size of our team here at Worcestershire County Cricket Club requires everyone to be flexible, willing and an excellent team player.
Due to the nature of the role, it’s critical the successful candidate has excellent availability through the cricket season, especially for Worcestershire Rapids Men’s (Home) and Worcestershire Rapid Women’s matchdays (home and away) and can independently travel to cover matches.

Requirements
You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
Qualifications:
A degree or working towards a degree in digital media, journalism or similar.
Knowledge and skills:
· Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud or experience using Canva, Adobe Express or similar
· Knowledge of Men’s & Women’s domestic cricket
· Strong written English skills with understanding of journalistic best practice
· Social native who understands social trends
· Ability to work to tight deadlines
· Ability to thrive under pressures of live sporting events
· Full UK driving licence and own mode of transport
· Digital content creation & filming experience is desirable
Personal Qualities:
· Strong communicator who is confident working with a range of stakeholders
· Proactive with ability to manage own workload and work autonomously
· Works well both as part of a team and individually
· Exemplary attention to detail with Strong written English with an ability to self-edit work
