Job Description Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for identifying, managing, and developing prioritized accounts in the retail pharmacy MDS segment to position BD’s products as a strategic partner at various stakeholder levels and support the achievement of BD’s sales and GP targets. The Senior Account Manager will create and execute a multi‑year growth and tactical plan for their accounts, managing cross‑functional teams to maximise revenue and build strong customer relationships.
Main Responsibilities Will Include
* Develop a long‑term strategy for the BD Rowa Retail portfolio as part of a wider MMS automation growth plan.
* Profile accounts: understand key figures, strategy, partnerships, and account ecosystem dynamics.
* Manage financials, commercial supply, contractual status, CRM dashboards, and set growth targets.
* Drive strategy and growth: manage governance, coverage, partnership progression, portfolio of opportunities, competitive analysis and SWOT.
* Lead functional action plans: customer quality assurance, project management, technical services, marketing, risk management, resource allocation.
* Obtain stakeholder buy‑in and co‑create value across internal and external teams.
* Strengthen the regional network of key healthcare influencers.
* Collaborate to identify solutions that meet customer needs.
* Negotiate with board level decision makers.
* Manage BD Rowa Retail interface requirements and serve as a strong ambassador for BD.
Main Activities
* Prospect, develop and manage accounts to maximise revenue and GP growth for BD Rowa Retail products and services.
* Serve as the key contact for community pharmacy and provide solutions tailored to senior management needs.
* Coordinate solution delivery teams and activate necessary internal resources.
* Build strong relationships with sponsors in accounts, attending conferences and sharing market knowledge.
* Consult target accounts to deeply understand needs and design tailored solutions.
* Negotiate strategic deals and oversee solution implementation.
About You
* 5‑8 years of sales experience, preferably in pharmacy or related healthcare channels.
* Strong board‑level communication and negotiation skills.
* Proven business development and leadership capabilities.
* In-depth understanding of the national healthcare system and reimbursement dynamics.
* Excellent communication across diverse business and technical disciplines.
* Team leadership experience and ability to work cross‑functionally.
* Willingness to travel and fluency in English.
Salary range: £45,000 – £50,000 + bonus + benefits.
