The main purpose of this role is to interrogate IT systems and analyse force held intelligence to support the timely execution of fail‑to‑appear warrants. The responsibilities include managing the efficient deployment and execution of fail‑to‑appear warrants across the Force and on behalf of other Forces, maintaining an effective administrative system by collating intelligence to facilitate the building of warrant packages, and ensuring a quality service that brings offenders to justice.
Main Responsibilities
* Single point of contact for police officers, Crown Prosecution Service and His Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service for all fail‑to‑appear warrant queries.
* Review original offence information to accurately grade individual warrants in line with National Protocol.
* Undertake accurate risk assessment of each wanted person in accordance with inter‑agency protocols, recording outcomes on force systems.
* Research, collate and gather information from authorised sources to expedite execution of fail‑to‑appear warrants.
* Ensure accurate and timely updates to Force and national systems such as PNC in line with national performance indicators.
* Undertake full and detailed audits for all live warrants held on a monthly basis, coordinating information with partner agencies.
* Use technology to interrogate Force systems (PNC, CRASH, PentiP, Athena) to obtain intelligence used to locate wanted individuals.
* Maintain auditable and accessible records of actions taken to locate individuals clearly.
* Undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of the post as required.
* Comply with Health and Safety regulations as per Warwickshire Police Health and Safety Policy.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* 5 GCSE’s grade A – C or 9 – 4 including English and Maths, or equivalent.
* Good understanding of the Criminal Justice System, particularly with regard to offenders who fail to attend court.
Experience
* Researching and collating complex information to aid decision making.
* Providing detailed written updates to senior managers.
* Maintaining detailed and accurate records of actions taken.
* Working independently and as part of a team.
* Prioritising and allocating workloads.
Key Skills
* Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, in writing and verbally.
* Proven ability to negotiate and influence people to achieve an outcome.
* Proven ability to work to strict deadlines and manage a high workload while balancing competing demands.
* Competence in the use of IT, including Microsoft packages or equivalent.
* Proven ability to problem solve and provide practical solutions.
