Job Description
Our client, based in Ely, is well established within the Life Sciences sector, with a product portfolio that is highly regarded as gold-standard by its customers. Having been acquired recently, the company has a strategy to expand both its product offering and the market that it serves. They are looking for a proactive, hands-on and detail-oriented Financial Controller to take ownership of the financial operations and help drive informed decision-making at a managerial level.
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial health, implementing and maintaining robust financial processes, and providing actionable insights to support the leadership team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who can bring structure and clarity to the current financial systems and processes, and wants the flexibility of a part-time position
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Administering day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports
* Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements, including the preparation of the quarterly VAT returns.
* Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
* Maintain and improve financial system processes and controls
* Audit preparation
* Management of trade debtors and creditors.
Previous Experience/Qualifications:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
* Proven experience in a finance management or senior accounting role
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong working knowledge of Sage 200
* Great communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly
* Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
Additional Information:
* Please note this is a part-time, permanent role working on-site 3-4 days a week, 20 – 24 hours per week.
