Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
* Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimised code.
* Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration aligned with business objectives.
* Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a code‑quality culture and knowledge sharing.
* Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contributing to the organisation’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
* Adhering to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
* Implementing effective unit‑testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
* Advising and influencing decision making, contributing to policy development, and taking responsibility for operational effectiveness, collaborating closely with other functions and business divisions.
* Leading a team performing complex tasks, using advanced professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function; setting objectives, coaching employees, and managing performance and reward outcomes.

You'll bring to life a new Digital Platform capability by transforming and modernising our digital estate to build a market‑leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart.
Heavily involved with the Product Operating Model, you will work with lines of business to translate their needs into rapid prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts using Java, BDD testing concepts, and AWS.
To be successful you should have:
* Experience with Permissions and Profiles where policy as code defines permission roles, and familiarity with ReBAC, ABAC, and RBAC security models.
* Hands‑on experience with Java, BDD testing concepts, and public cloud (AWS).
* Understanding of authorisation and authentication technologies such as policy‑as‑code, IAM, and related IAM solutions.
Highly desirable skills:
* Willingness to constructively disrupt and challenge the norm.
* Relationship‑building skills, patience, and resilience to change current thinking and practices.
* Ability to translate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical teams without losing detail.
* Experience with Ping solutions (PingGateway, PingAM, PingIDM, PingDS).

Assessment may cover key critical skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and specific technical competencies.
