Location: National - Based in London, Liverpool, Newcastle, or Birmingham; it is expected that this role will be full time and involve extensive travel to, and presence in, all centres. Who we are James’ Place is a charity on a critical mission to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis. With centres located in London, Liverpool, and Newcastle, with further expansion plans across the UK, we are committed to offering our brief, intensive therapeutic intervention to men facing crises, such as relationship breakdown, financial problems, or bereavement. To date, we have treated over 3,000 men, providing proven clinical services that significantly reduce psychological distress. As we continue to expand our reach and improve service delivery, we are seeking an exceptional Director of Clinical Services to help us manage our expanding services, lead the clinical effectiveness of our work and ensure we continue to deliver safe, high-quality care at every centre. About the role As our new Director of Clinical Services, you will be responsible for leading the clinical directorate at James’ Place, leading clinical quality in all centres. You will work closely with our CEO and Clinical Lead to ensure the centres offer a safe and effective service to men in suicidal crisis. You will lead and direct a team of clinicians and therapists ensuring the urgent, high-quality care we deliver meets the needs of men in suicidal crisis. You will act as a clinical ‘trouble shooter’, working with each Head of Centre to address their most pressing priorities, including caseload management, complexity, outreach and attendance. Ultimately, you will be responsible for all clinical activity and quality, working with the Heads of Centre to ensure we meet the standards set in our service specification, providing expert support to all clinical team members in the delivery of individual care. Who are we looking for? We seek a highly experienced senior clinical leader with a deep knowledge and expertise of a range of mental health conditions and their impact, ideally experienced in suicide prevention and with a proven track record of leading treatment and intervention. You’ll bring experience of leading clinical teams or services at a strategic and operational level, with a strong track record of improving outcomes and supporting staff. Your ability to think strategically, coupled with excellent communication skills, will be key to ensuring that the charity can continue to deliver high-quality services. As part of the core leadership team, you will also have the ability to deputise for the CEO, when necessary.
