Our client, with a stunning country Estate near Charlbury in Oxfordshire, is seeking a Live-in Domestic Couple to complement their established team of household staff. The property boasts grandeur and elegance, offering a fulfilling work environment amidst the beauty of the countryside.
Position Overview :
As part of the household staff team, the Live-in Domestic Couple will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of the Estate. Working alongside three full-time Housekeepers and two part-time Housekeepers, as well as other members of the Estate Team, the Couple will ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Wardrobe Management : Efficiently manage wardrobes, including packing and unpacking, maintaining inventories, and ensuring garments are cared for appropriately.
2. Housekeeping : Perform hands-on cleaning, tidying, and organising tasks to uphold impeccable standards throughout the property. This includes general housekeeping duties, as well as overseeing the Housemen/Housekeeper duties.
3. Laundry & Ironing : Handle laundry duties with expertise, demonstrating knowledge of fabric care and ensuring garments are laundered to a high standard.
4. Front of House Assistance : Provide support with front of house duties, including service, to ensure a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
5. Ad Hoc Duties and Errands : Undertake various ad hoc tasks and errands as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to fulfilling responsibilities.
Housemen/Housekeeper Duties, not limited to:
6. Oversee the changeover of gas.
7. Light handyman/maintenance duties.
8. Preparing and cleaning outside areas.
9. Overseeing external contractors.
10. Assistance with Gardening Team: Assist the gardening team with various tasks, ensuring the outdoor areas are well-maintained and prepared for events.
11. Event Preparation: Assist in preparing for events held on the Estate, ensuring all areas are clean, well-presented, and ready to welcome guests.
Candidate Requirements:
12. Proven experience and longevity in previous roles within a similar capacity, demonstrating reliability and dedication.
13. Excellent abilities in wardrobe management are essential, with Lady’s Maid experience considered a significant advantage.
14. Flexibility and a team player mentality, willing to assist in other areas as needed to support the overall functioning of the Estate.
15. Must possess a valid driver's license and own car due to the rural location of the property.
Working Conditions:
16. Working Days/Hours : Five days per week, totalling 40-45 hours, organised on a rota basis in advance to ensure adequate coverage.
17. Accommodation : Separate three-bedroom cottage with a garden and outstanding views, offering comfortable living quarters amidst the picturesque surroundings.
18. Salary : £75,000 to £80,000 DOE
