IT Support Engineer Bromsgrove (with occasional travel to additional sites) £30,000-32,000
REED Technology are currently supporting a well-established, forward-thinking organisation in their search for an IT Support Engineer to join their growing internal IT team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running of IT operations and would suit someone who is proactive, customer-focused, and confident handling a wide variety of technical tasks.
Responsibilities
* Act as a key point of contact for internal IT queries, managing and updating tickets through the internal helpdesk system.
* Work closely with multiple locations, including occasional site visits, to support fault resolution and deliver high-level IT services.
* Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across the organisation.
* Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or management when required, while maintaining ownership of the ticket lifecycle.
* Liaise with external third-party suppliers to ensure systems and software remain fully operational and aligned with agreed service levels.
* Support and maintain essential IT infrastructure, networks, and cloud-based technologies including Office 365 and Azure AD.
* Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
* Set up and support remote users, including VPN configuration, encryption, email setup, antivirus, and server access.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong experience handling a broad spectrum of IT issues in a fast-paced environment.
* A customer-first attitude with excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
* High attention to detail with solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Good technical understanding of Microsoft Azure, Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and general Microsoft applications.
* Experience working with hardware such as firewalls, switches, storage solutions, printers, and similar equipment.
* Exposure to Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems – particularly tablets and smartphones.
* A strong understanding of LAN, WAN, and VPN technologies.
* Relevant qualifications such as CompTIA A+, MCITP, or similar are desirable but not essential.
