Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of site production operations and play a key role in driving efficiency, performance, and team development.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
You will work closely with internal teams to coordinate production schedules, manage resources, and maintain a consistent workflow across the site. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving and leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and manage daily and weekly production activities
Ensure materials and resources are in place to meet production demands
Monitor output and resolve production or capacity issues
Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture
Maintain accurate production records and KPIs
Support stock control and work-in-progress tracking
Identify and implement process improvements
Manage, coach, and develop the production team
Handle attendance, performance, and employee relations matters
Support quality control and investigate production issues
Requirements
Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment
Strong organisational and planning skills
Confident leadership and communication ability
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production planning systems
Experience handling people-related matters in line with HR processes
Desirable:
Experience in timber, sawmilling, or heavy manufacturing
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
