Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Server & Barista to lead our front-of-house team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a thorough understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to oversee service operations, ensure smooth workflow, and maintain high standards of hospitality within a vibrant Cafe environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate the serving team to ensure efficient and courteous service to all guests
* Assist with food and beverage service, including taking orders, serving dishes, and managing special requests
* Oversee food safety procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
* Support baristas with drink preparation when necessary, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
* Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and optimise table turnover to maximise guest satisfaction
* Train new staff members on service protocols, food safety, and customer engagement techniques
* Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly to uphold the establishment's reputation
* Assist with food preparation tasks during busy periods or as needed to support the team
* Maintain organised workstations and ensure cleanliness throughout the service area
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timely delivery of orders
Qualifications
* Proven experience in serving roles within a busy Cafe.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
* Barista experience is essential; training will be provided also
* Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
* Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and inventory purposes
* Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
* Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively
* Good communication skills to liaise seamlessly with colleagues and guests
