Job Title: Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for a Planner to join their Banbury office.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Planner to work across a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will gain exposure to all stages of the planning process while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
THE ROLE
As a Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination. You will manage your own smaller projects while supporting senior team members on more complex schemes, gaining valuable client-facing experience and developing your technical expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing smaller planning applications from start to finish
Supporting senior planners on larger and more complex developments
Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documents
Undertaking site appraisals and planning policy research
Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
Attending client meetings and project discussions
Supporting project coordination and delivery
Assisting with business development and networking activitiesThe Planner will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced team members, gaining insight into planning strategies and procedures, and developing both technical and professional skills across a variety of sectors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority desirable
Strong understanding of the UK planning system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
A proactive, commercially aware, and client-focused mindsetWHAT'S ON OFFER
