As part of our Depot Management Team, you will work alongside the Night Shift Manager to support the depot. Your working week will typically be any 4 days over 7, starting around 22:30 to 09:00, with times varying depending on volumes.
Our Night Supervisor is a crucial role, ensuring the smooth running of the night operation by leading teams of Night Loaders, Sorters, and Drivers processing parcels for delivery.
The ideal candidate for the Night Supervisor position is someone who understands how to motivate staff and can efficiently prioritize pressing needs where solutions are not immediately apparent. Lateral and original thinking would be beneficial, as would logistics experience, but we are open to experience gained in related fields. You must be able to work collaboratively and take the lead on projects among your peers.
About the Role
* Manage a team of up to 50 direct reports, providing leadership and direction for the shift.
* Develop and train reports, ensuring SLAs are met for the night shift.
* Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations.
* Process BI and MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders.
* Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Skills/Qualifications
* Management experience of leading and managing a team.
* Experience managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is a definite advantage.
* Ability to work on own initiative in a pressurized environment with tight deadlines.
* PC literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* An understanding of transport regulations is ideally preferred.
