We are currently seeking an Operations Controller to join our Operations team at our Burton Latimer site on a full-time permanent basis!
As an Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by managing drivers and vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, vehicle roadworthiness, and EU driver regulations. You will also have responsibilities for effective site management in accordance with company policies and H&S regulations.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 18:00 - 06:00.
Salary: £34,624.51 per annum.
Key Duties include:
* Managing outbound schedules to meet collection and delivery times.
* Issuing instructions to staff for smooth inbound and outbound operations.
* Controlling paperwork for outbound shipments with 100% accuracy.
* Managing international inbound flow to ensure scheduling adherence and minimize demurrage claims.
* Handling paperwork requirements for dispatches.
* Communicating issues to the Shift Manager promptly to minimize disruptions.
* Liaising with the transport department for trailer flow.
* Participating actively in the team, suggesting improvements for efficiency, customer service, and quality.
* Maintaining communication with transport providers to prevent late collections and delivery failures.
* Providing detailed handovers to the next shift, highlighting issues and current status.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* GCSE in Maths and English at least a grade 'C' or equivalent.
* Five GCSEs at least a grade 'C' or equivalent.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Knowledge of GTS system and logistics sector experience.
* Understanding of WTD and EU driver hours regulations.
Desirable:
* Health and Safety qualification.
* CPC National Qualification.
* At least 5 years managerial experience in transport.
