Job Summary
This permanent, part‑time (22.5 hours per week) role is offered to an enthusiastic and innovative Psychological Practitioner (Psychologist, Adult Psychotherapist, Arts Psychotherapist or CBT Therapist) to join our well‑established multidisciplinary team within the Perinatal Mental Health Service. The service provides evidence‑based care for women, their infants and families, prioritising access for those with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver direct psychological interventions to individuals and families, providing individually tailored, evidence‑based treatment programmes for complex co‑morbidities such as severe depression, anxiety, perinatal OCD, bipolar disorder, personality disorder and psychosis.
* Supervise and support multidisciplinary team (MDT) colleagues, offering counselling and guidance to non‑psychological staff.
* Provide training, teaching and consultation to other professionals within the service.
* Promote psychological health and well‑being for women within the perinatal context, offering specialist advice and guidance to other staff members when required.
* Raise awareness of perinatal mental health issues across the wider health and social care environment.
* Work collaboratively within the MDT to integrate a psychological perspective into clinical practice.
* Utilise research skills for audit, policy formulation and service development.
* Act as the lead health care professional when appropriate.
Key Qualifications
* Qualified as a Psychologist, Adult Psychotherapist, Arts Psychotherapist or CBT Therapist.
* Relevant experience in providing psychological interventions to pregnant or post‑natal women, including those with complex comorbidities.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience or evidence of training, teaching or consultation to non‑specialist professionals.
* Knowledge of evidence‑based treatments relevant to perinatal mental health.
