The Project Design Engineer role blends traditional Project Management and Design Engineering. You will manage projects through the outline and detailed design life cycle, supported by multi‑disciplinary teams, and support the ambition to achieve chartership or cross‑disciplinary expertise.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a "project triangle" with a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor, ensuring technical, constructability and commercial aspects are considered throughout.
* Lead the design of water and wastewater treatment or infrastructure projects from initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and hand‑over.
* Coordinate the project team of civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists, ensuring designs meet programme, budget and quality requirements.
* Mentor less‑experienced colleagues within your discipline where appropriate.
* Build positive relationships with the client’s project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a "one‑team" approach.
Qualifications
* Accredited degree in Engineering – Civil, Mechanical, Process or Electrical.
* Incorporated Member of a relevant Engineering Institution.
* Experience in outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
* Knowledge of Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
