Job Description

Payroll & Allowance Operations role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll and payment processing.

The role works closely with support teams and business users to monitor payroll interfaces, investigate payroll/payment issues, resolve master data discrepancies, and support audit and compliance requirements within SAP HR/Payroll environments.


Key Responsibilities

* Payroll & Payment Operations: Work closely with support teams to ensure payroll and payment timeliness and accuracy.
* Monitor and execute payroll interface jobs through to successful payment completion.
* Investigate and resolve payroll and payment operational issues arising from upstream system processes.
* Payroll Checks & Compliance: Perform payroll and payment checks using furnished tools (e.g., Audit and Compliance Tools).
* Configure and run payroll/payment validation checks and follow through on data rectification.
* Investigate anomalies identified by compliance and analytical tools and provide detailed root‑cause explanations.
* Data & Master Data Management: Support users in data profiling for payroll-related issues.
* Identify, investigate, and resolve pay discrepancies; proactively contact relevant users when issues are detected.
* Investigate master data discrepancies using SAP programs, SAP queries, or SQL where required.
* Track outstanding master data errors and ensure resolution prior to payroll runs.
* Payroll Calendar & Job Monitoring: Maintain and track the Payroll Calendar, including payroll interface jobs, ad‑hoc job schedules, bank cut‑off dates for refunds and ad‑hoc payments; ensure all scheduled and ad‑hoc batch jobs are completed according to the payroll calendar.
* Financial & GL Activities: Perform payroll GL posting runs; execute ad‑hoc GL posting runs related to payroll and allowances.
* Stakeholder & Audit Support: Respond to queries on payroll status, risks, and mitigation plans; provide support for investigations related to user queries, internal audit checks, external audit requests; prepare clear documentation and explanations for identified payroll or payment anomalies.


Educational Qualifications

* Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Science, Engineering, or equivalent.


Required Competencies

* Technical & Functional: Strong knowledge of SAP HR and Payroll.
* Ability to perform data queries using SAP programs/queries or SQL.
* Solid understanding of end‑to‑end payroll processes and processing cycles.
