Salary: £28,142 – £32,061 per annum* (per year). Permanent, part‑time, 20 hours per week. Includes enhancements for night work, weekend working and sleep‑in duty.

Residential Child Care Worker
The Children's Residential Service provides a safe, nurturing environment for children in care. We work tirelessly to meet the needs of children within our homes and generate the best outcomes, while keeping them safe from harm. We pride ourselves on developing positive, meaningful, and lifelong relationships with our children, promoting fun activities, and supporting them to develop in all areas of life.
About The Role
Night staff have a significant and important role in our children's homes, working through the night while other staff are asleep. You will ensure the home is secure during the night and, if the children wake, have a friendly face to support them and deal with any issues. The role will involve working on a rota basis, including night shifts and weekends.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Understanding of the needs of children and young people and the relevant legislation surrounding their care.
* Excellent observational skills to monitor the children's well‑being and respond to issues effectively.
* Strong communication skills, and the ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour.
Key qualities: time to listen, actions to help, cooking skills, and the desire to spend time with the children.
