Quantity Surveyor


Location: London

Engagement : Contract

Duration: Min 24 months

Daily rate: Negotiable (outside IR35)

Start: December 2025


We are supporting our client in securing a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of large scale energy or infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in contract management and cost control, with demonstrable experience working under international contract standards. This role involves proactive engagement across project teams to ensure commercial efficiency, risk mitigation and contractual compliance.


Key Qualifications & Experience

* Mandatory: Professional membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
* Solid background in contract administration and cost management, preferably within the offshore wind, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure sectors.
* Strong understanding of FIDIC, BIMCO and LOGIC contract frameworks, with proven experience in change and claim management.
* Proficient in SAP or similar enterprise resource planning tools for cost tracking and reporting.


Core Responsibilities

* Lead cost control and budget tracking for project work packages, ensuring all financial documentation meets internal and contractual standards.
* Administer and process contractor payment applications in accordance with contractual and company procedures.
* Support the project management team through active commercial and contract oversight, maintaining alignment between technical progress and financial performance.
* Evaluate and advise on variation orders, change notifications and claims, ensuring timely assessment and documentation.
* Maintain up to date records of all contractual changes and enforce compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
* Prepare correspondence and documentation related to claims, determinations, instructions and contract notices.
* Contribute to the dispute readiness process by ensuring robust documentation and commercial records are maintained throughout the project life cycle.
* Provide expert advice on contractual issues and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and legal teams.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance standard contract procedures and commercial practices.
* Produce regular reports on cost performance, risk exposure and contract status to the relevant management levels and project stakeholders.
