We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time SEND Level 2 Caseworker to join our Boston and South Holland (BSH) SEND locality team on a permanent basis. We also have a full-time SEND Level 2 Caseworker position in Lincoln and West Lindsey (LWL) on a 12-18 month fixed-term contract (potentially as a secondment).
About the role
SEND Level 2 Caseworkers manage a defined and complex caseload of children and young people with Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plans. They facilitate and coordinate the statutory EHC assessment process for children and young people (0-25 years) within the timelines set by the SEND Code of Practice (2015). The role involves ensuring appropriate services and provisions are provided to meet children and young people's needs, helping them achieve the best possible educational, health, and care outcomes.
This role requires working in partnership with children, young people, their families, professional agencies, and the third sector to develop, draft, and finalize needs-led EHC plans, aiming to achieve specific objectives, outcomes, and aspirations. SEND Level 2 Caseworkers ensure full participation of children, young people, and families in decision-making processes.
They are also responsible for managing SEND Tribunals related to their caseload, liaising directly with our Legal Team representing the Local Authority during Tribunal hearings. Additionally, they oversee the supervision and line management of a SEND Level 1 Caseworker or Assistant Caseworker.
