Job Description:
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), especially those experiencing Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)?
Our client, a leading specialist provider of primary education, is seeking a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing foundation phase setting in Port Talbot.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide focused, one-to-one, and small group support to help pupils manage emotions, develop coping strategies, and self-regulate behaviour to access the curriculum successfully.
* Collaborate closely with the Class Teacher and the school's ALN Coordinator (ALNCo) to implement and adapt Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Create a stable, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that encourages positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and academic progress for pupils who need additional support.
* Support the development of learners’ social skills and emotional resilience through tailored interventions.
* Monitor and record pupils’ progress, providing feedback to the teaching team to adapt approaches as needed.
Requirements:
* Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting pupils within ALN and SEBD settings.
* Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Behaviour Management strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to student wellbeing.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff.
* Relevant qualifications or training related to SEN or behaviour support (desirable).
