Overview
TipTopJob is recruiting for a Specialist:one:to:one Study Skills Support Worker to work with autistic students studying at the University of Lincoln. The role is part-time and offers pay rate GBP28 per hour plus holiday pay. The successful candidate must be able to travel to the local university or college and offer both in person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.
Responsibilities
* Provide learning support and academic guidance
* Create an individual learning plan tailored to the student’s needs to encourage independent learning
* Support students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies
* Create strategies around organisation and time management
* Develop action plans to stay on track with studies
* Support development of research skills and how to use a variety of sources
* Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
* Support comprehension in reading and writing
Requirements
As this is a specialist role, you must have the correct qualifications and training. All students you will be supporting are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA); therefore you must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the Department for Education (DfE).
Candidates must be qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 minimum), have a teaching qualification, and have completed extensive training in adult autism.
