Pulse, part of Acteon Group, are a market leader in subsea structural monitoring providing highly sophisticated monitoring systems and services to both oil & gas and renewables clients around the globe since 1998. Due to our ambitious growth plans we are looking to strengthen our team in a number of roles.
Pulse are looking to hire a Graduate Engineer on a full-time permanent basis based at their facility in Wokingham. The Acteon Graduate Program at Pulse Structural Monitoring is designed to develop future industry professionals by providing structured training and hands-on experience across multiple disciplines. Over the course of two years, graduates will gain exposure to engineering, project management, and digital technology, equipping them with the essential skills needed to contribute to Acteon's innovative solutions in the renewable energy and oil and gas sectors. This role will enable graduates to develop technical expertise, leadership skills, and global exposure through mentorship and international assignments.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
* Participate in structured rotations across key areas, including digital technology, engineering, and project coordination.
* Contribute to real-world projects from day one, delivering meaningful output aligned with company objectives.
* Work under the guidance of a technical mentor to build expertise in areas such as mechanical design, production, and field engineering.
* Assist with project planning, coordination, and execution in various engineering and commercial capacities.
* Support cross-functional teams in delivering innovative solutions for offshore and onshore structural monitoring.
* Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to real-time engineering challenges.
* Engage in regular professional development sessions with a dedicated mentor.
* Attend quarterly review sessions to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
* Undertake external training (HUET/BOSET/First Aid) to prepare for offshore work environments.
* Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams across different Acteon business units and global offices.
* Participate in short-term and long-term international assignments to gain a broader industry perspective.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, contributing to team success through effective communication and collaboration.
Required
* Strong academic background in a relevant STEM discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, etc.).
* Ability to analyse data, solve complex engineering problems, and develop innovative solutions.
* Understanding of software systems, digital tools, and commercial IT platforms is an advantage.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to adapt communication style according to the audience.
* Experience working effectively in team environments, demonstrating leadership and cooperation.
* Motivated self-starter with a proactive approach to learning and development.
* Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and dynamic work environments.
* Willingness to take on responsibility and drive projects forward.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Valid passport and driver’s license.
* Willingness to travel and work internationally for short periods.
