Job overview
Leigh Academy Wilmington now has an opportunity to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated team to provide full support to the staff and students. The successful candidate will ensure the good behaviour of our students and make sure students engage in their learning during short-term absence of teachers. Cover work will be supplied wherever possible for you to use as a basis for the lessons and we will also determine your subject specialisms with you as a preference. Excellent inter-personal skills are required for this post as our successful candidates need to demonstrate that they can build good rapport with staff and students alike. This post is ideal for graduates with an interest in developing a career in teaching as the experience you can gain from this is first-hand, and also those who may have had experience within the education sector beforehand.
Please note that whilst previous experience within an education environment is desirable, full training will be provided for successful candidates.
The working basis for this role is 3 days per week, term time only. The agreed working days will be discussed during the interview.

About Wilmington Academy
Wilmington Academy
Common Lane, Wilmington, Dartford
Kent
DA2 7DR
United Kingdom
Wilmington Academy is a highly successful school where students from diverse backgrounds thrive in a calm, respectful, and purposeful learning environment. The IB philosophy underpins a carefully crafted curriculum that meets the needs and aspirations of all learners, with the IB Career-related Programme in Key Stage 5 and the IB Middle Years Programme in Key Stage 3 providing a truly global and future-focused education. The Academy boasts exceptional facilities in a semi-rural setting near Dartford, and students benefit from extensive enrichment, strong pastoral support, and a culture that values academic excellence, hard work, and good manners.
Value-added measures place the school in the top band nationally for both Key Stage 4 and 5, and outcomes are among the best for non-selective schools in Kent. Wilmington fosters international-mindedness, teamwork, and inclusion through its small-school structure, vertical tutor groups, and moral purpose. A large number of students progress to university or high-level apprenticeships, supported by dedicated staff and a strong partnership with Leigh Academies Trust and external organisations.
