Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Irlam

Start Date: September 2026

Location: Irlam
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a warm, inclusive primary school in Irlam to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to thrive in a nurturing, child-centred environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students’ learning, development, and emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

* Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
* Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging, differentiated learning activities
* Assisting in the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
* Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
* Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Monitoring pupil progress, recording observations, and adapting support as needed

About You

We are looking for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education.

You will ideally have:

* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
* A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine commitment to supporting children to reach their full potential
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil welfare
* Level 2 Safeguarding certification (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
