Role Profile - Interim Assistant Director, Asset Investment
Sutton Housing Partnership, (SHP) is an ALMO managing approximately 6,000 tenants and 1,500 leaseholders on behalf of the London Borough of Sutton. We have been awarded a C1 rating, (the highest achievable) by the Regulator for Social Housing with respect to their Consumer Standards.
SHP is looking to recruit an Interim Assistant Director to its Asset Investment service.
Period: minimum 4 months, up to recruitment of permanent post which will be advertised in January. Term will be extended if the recruitment exercise is unsuccessful.
Team size: 11 plus external procurement resource.
Direct reports: Head of Major Works Delivery, Asset Data & Systems Manager, Major Works Contract Procurement Manager.
Capital Works Budget: c£20 million pa.
Outputs
1. Effective leadership and management of the team.
2. Major Works delivery - maximise Major Works capital investment in homes, within budget and providing an excellent resident experience.
3. Effective budget management and forecasting of the Major Works capital programme.
4. Stock condition survey, (SCS):
1. Already underway, (c2,000 of the 6,000 homes surveys completed). Manage SCS provider to deliver their c150 surveys per week target.
2. Effective data validation and interrogation - lead and manage the internal team to deliver.
5. Procurement (Major Works contracts) - lead and manage SHP’s Procurement lead to deliver planned procurements.
Experience & Skills
1. “Output” focused and driven.
2. Significant experience at commensurate level, managing teams delivering major works, asset management at comparative scale.
3. Experience of managing and performance managing staff, ensuring effective leadership, delegation and getting the “best out of people”.
4. “Savvy” with asset data and experience of using this to develop Major Works investment programmes for procurement.
5. Experience of developing Major Works scope of works and specifications for procurement.
6. MRICS or CIOB qualification.
