The program supports young people under 25 years who are pregnant or parenting, and are experiencing complex issues that impact on parenting, family life and children’s wellbeing. Starting Out aims to enhance the parenting capacity of participants through assertive outreach and group work. As a Parent Mentor you will: Support a team of specialist social workers Participate in group work and provide general support to young parents and their children Role-model and mentor positive parenting and play with young parents Bring your personal experiences of young parenting – from lived experience and/or relevant studies Benefits of working at Uniting Our work isn’t easy, but it matters.
