Brief Description: The Process Technician Senior Coordinator is responsible for manufacturing and packaging processes with Botanical Drug Product (BDP) in compliance with Health and Safety (H&S) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This role may include direct people management responsibilities, including team performance management.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
* Maintain cGxP and EH&S knowledge relevant to the role.
* Ensure delivery of all BDP production batches as per schedule.
* Process all BDP batch documentation following cGMP and procedures.
* Lead and proactively oversee production tasks to ensure correct procedure adherence and timely completion.
* Perform routine micro testing in the Commercial Manufacturing Suite (CMS).
* Liaise with departments on BDP production scheduling, including supply chain, warehouse, engineering, QC, and QA.
* Train technicians on new processes or changes.
* Identify and implement process improvements across BDP manufacturing and packaging.
* Complete additional tasks assigned by management outside core duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Adhere to health, safety, security, and environmental standards and report shortcomings.
* Responsible for manufacturing and packaging processes in accordance with cGMP, both as initiator and checker.
* Accurately record process conditions and maintain documentation.
* Ensure high standards in cleaning procedures as per cGMP.
* Provide coverage for other departments if needed.
* Ensure activities comply with cGMP and EH&S standards.
* Author and update batch documentation, SOPs, and forms.
* Complete quality documentation such as deviations, CAPAs, protocols, and change controls.
* Maintain flexibility in working hours to accommodate production needs.
* Train and coach new starters and re-train existing staff.
* Identify efficiency and cost reduction opportunities.
* Report atypical events/deviations immediately.
* Potentially act as the BDP department EH&S representative and manage related tasks.
* Possibly oversee consumable and critical-to-quality ordering.
* Minimize risks to health, safety, security, and environment during activities.
Minimum Education and Licenses:
* At least 3 years of experience in a regulated production environment, preferably in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or food industry.
* Qualifications such as NVQ or similar in the pharmaceutical industry are preferred.
* Proven team supervision or leadership experience in a related industry.
* Strong numeracy and communication skills, including written.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to develop positive stakeholder relationships.
* Willingness to challenge norms and suggest improvements.
* Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
