Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Business Intelligence Lead to take ownership of our data and reporting strategy. You’ll design and deliver our new data warehouse first approach, moving us away from legacy reporting and towards trusted, actionable insights for both colleagues and customers.
This role is not just about technology, you’ll spend significant time working directly with the business, understanding needs from largely non-technical stakeholders across operations, sales, finance, and customer services. You’ll turn their evolving requirements into clear, usable dashboards and reports that drive decision making.
Why join us?
* Shape BI from the ground up, creating a data warehouse–first culture.
* Work closely with senior leadership while staying deeply connected to day-to-day business users.
* A mix of strategic ownership and hands-on delivery.
* Competitive package, with scope to grow your impact and career.
If you enjoy getting under the skin of how a business works, turning non-technical requirements into clear, actionable reporting, and leading the move towards a modern BI environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Duties
* Partner with stakeholders (most of whom are non-technical) to understand business problems, define requirements, and shape reporting solutions.
* Lead the migration from reporting on production databases to a robust data warehouse as the single source of truth.
* Design and implement new ETL/data pipelines to replace nightly rebuild jobs.
* Oversee the BI platform selection and reporting migration, embedding reports into internal systems (≈300 users) and customer portals (thousands of users).
* Shift reporting culture from tabular/Excel-heavy outputs to curated dashboards and KPI-driven insights.
* Deliver a mix of operational reports and more complex dashboards, including financial and forecasting models.
* Define data standards and governance, improving consistency and reliability across reports
* Experiment with AI/ML to explore where advanced analytics can add value
* Manage and mentor a junior data analyst, supporting their growth and delivery
Essential Requirements
* Strong, hands-on SQL experience
* Experience designing and delivering data warehouses and ETL pipelines
* Track record of engaging non-technical stakeholders to define requirements and deliver actionable insights
* Ability to work in environments where requirements may be ambiguous or changing
* Pragmatic mindset — knows that timely 90% solutions often deliver more value than delayed perfection.
* Experience mentoring or managing others.
Nice To Have
* SSRS experience (our current platform)
* Familiarity with embedded reporting solutions
* Experience with API-based data integration
* Knowledge of modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Metabase, etc.)
