The Opportunity Our Client; a well-recognised and respected Materials Handling company who are among the world's largest suppliers of Automated Warehouse and Materials Handling solutions are now actively seeking an experienced Project Manager for modernization and client site upgrade projects on initially a 6-month contract basis. You will ideally be living in England with this role seeing you home based, with then travel needed when appropriate to meet with customers across the country; mainly in the Midlands. On offer here for the contract is a negotiable (albeit dependent on relevant experience) day rate, which will sit outside of IR35 regulations. Reporting to their Regional MU Project Execution Leader, your role will be to manage individual client upgrade and modernization projects through to final acceptance for Materials Handling Equipment with a CAPEX project value of up to £5M, ensuring they are completed on time and meet the customers’ agreed specification and quality expectations. Detailed duties and responsibilities will be: Lead projects with full responsibility over budget, schedule, quality and EHS (Environment Health and Safety). Leading interdisciplinary project teams to deliver projects on time and quality within a given cost framework. Contact person for the customer during the entire project duration. Contract management including change and claims management. Scheduling and control. Control of costs and cash flow with accurate forecasts of over and underspending. Risk management and project status reporting. Coordinating the specification and procurement of equipment, products and services together with the relevant departments. Ensure compliance with project management processes and policies.You will have the following qualifications & experience: Should ideally have a University Degree (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Business Administration with a specialization in logistics) or a comparable qualification, although plenty of relevant experience will be considered. You will need to be an experienced Project Manager who is used to, and prepared to support customers on-site with a background in Materials Handling (MHE) and/or Conveyors etc. Should have experience working in a live environment, effectively coordinating break-in activities. Good communication skills, able to work across functional levels and geographical boundaries Ability to work in a team, change and problem-solving skills as well as an analytical approach to work is needed here. Constructive conflict management, high level of personal responsibility and assertiveness skills are required. Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approx.30%). Driving license. Good written and spoken English and local language.It’s great if you also have the following: Experience in the logistics sector desirable. Fluency in other languages is desirable.This position is available with immediate effect.
