Are you an experienced Electrician looking for a long‑term opportunity at a prestigious, secure site? Hays is recruiting for an Electrician to join the maintenance team. This role involves both planned and reactive maintenance and requires a high standard of technical ability.
The RoleYou will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems across the site. Daily tasks will include:
1. Reacting to breakdown and maintenance requests within agreed SLAs
2. Carrying out routine maintenance to a high standard
3. Testing and diagnosing power quality issues
4. Conducting emergency lighting and fire alarm testing
5. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, instructions, processes and O&M manuals
6. Liaising with subcontractors and ensuring works arepleted to required policies and standards
7. Monitoring environmental conditions and critical equipment, ensuring safe and optimal operation
8. Undertaking root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
9. Maintaining accurate site logs and documentation
Shift PatternsThis role works on a weekly‑rotating shift pattern:
10. 07:00 – 15:30
11. 09:30 – 18:00
(40 hours per week, with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break)
What You’ll Need
12. 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations certification
13. Experience working with building management systems (BMS), including fault finding and operational use
14. FM (Facilities Management) experience is advantageous
15. A Basic DBS certificate dated within the last 3 months – required for unescorted access on site
