Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with children, fostering their growth and learning through engaging activities and personalised care. The Nursery Assistant will contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive space for children to thrive.
Duties
* Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
* Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, naps, and hygiene practices.
* Supervise children during playtime both indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety at all times.
* Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, including sanitising toys and equipment regularly.
* Observe and record children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns to inform ongoing development plans.
* Collaborate with management and other staff members to deliver high-quality childcare services.
* Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's activities and wellbeing.
* Support children's emotional needs by providing reassurance, comfort, and encouragement.
* Assist with administrative tasks related to child records and activity planning as required.
Skills
* Previous experience with childcare or nursery environments is highly desirable.
* Level 2 / 3 Childcare Course (preferred) willing to work towards (compulsory)
* Strong skills to organise activities and oversee children's safety effectively.
* Leadership qualities to guide children confidently while fostering independence.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Experience working with children of various ages, demonstrating patience and understanding.
* Knowledge of early childhood education principles to support developmental milestones.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative independently.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £18,315.00-£30,136.85 per year
Expected hours: 16 – 30 per week
