Freelance: Up to £420 per day
Location: Reading We are currently searching for an experienced Project Manager to join one of the UK's leading Civil Engineering firms. Now with a international presence, this company are a household name in the industry with over 30 years in business.
The role will be on a MoD project in Reading which has a variety of civil engineering packages to be delivered. Package values will range from the hundreds of thousands to tens of millions. The project will be ongoing for several years and follow on work on other projects will be a possibility (location dependant).
This role will require the individual to have extensive background checks and hold/be able to obtain Security Clearance in the form of SC or BPSS. This clearance can already be held or obtained during offer stage.
The role:
End-to-end management of civil engineering projects, from pre-start through to completion and handover
Planning and controlling programmes, resources and sequencing to achieve on-time, on-budget delivery
Managing project teams and supply chain, including Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractor
Client and stakeholder liaison, ensuring clear communication, reporting and issue resolution
Commercial oversight in conjunction with the QS, including valuations, variations, change control and forecasts
Ensuring HSEQ compliance, implementing method statements, risk assessments and company procedures
Managing risk and opportunities, driving value engineering and buildability solutions
Overseeing quality and handover, including inspections, snagging, as-built records and final documentation Experience Required:
5 + years experience working as a Project Manager/Construction Manager on large civil engineering projects.
Previous experience working on MoD projects beneficial but not essential.
Must live within commutable distance to Reading as accommodation will not be provided.
