Rate: Market Rate About the Role Our client, a leading global organization, is seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join a high-performing team in Cardiff. This role will suit someone with strong hands-on automation experience, particularly with JavaScript/TypeScript, who can define frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and champion best practices within agile teams. This is a hybrid contract role, offering exposure to large-scale enterprise projects in the BFSI sector. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain robust test automation frameworks and tools. Identify opportunities for automation across the software lifecycle. Collaborate closely with development teams to define strategy and shift testing left. Create clear and accurate test documentation. Drive continuous improvement of testing practices. Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab). Share best practices and ensure testing is represented across agile ceremonies. Stay up to date with latest advancements in test automation. Essential Skills & Experience 58 years experience in building complex automation frameworks from scratch using JavaScript/TypeScript. Strong UI automation experience with Selenium WebDriver. Hands-on experience with Playwright. Solid experience in BDD frameworks (Cucumber or similar). Good knowledge of Node.js and OOP fundamentals. CI/CD integration experience (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab runner). Experience with API automation (Postman or similar). Familiarity with version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket). Knowledge of Jira/Zephyr for test management. Agile project experience, understanding the QA role in ceremonies. Nice to Have Experience with Percy or BrowserStack for visual testing/cross-browser testing. Exposure to component integration testing.
