Band 6 - Specialist Occupational Therapist
Please note: As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the occupational therapy team within the Royal Edinburgh Hospital working in mental health rehabilitation. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hard-working individual to join our friendly team.
The post holder will have leadership and innovation skills and be able to work alone and as part of a multi-professional team.
This post would suit someone who has a passion for assessing, formulating and developing therapy interventions packages that promote occupational performance and independence. Skills and knowledge in working with complex physical health conditions would be an asset. Working jointly with the individual occupational therapy can address physical, cognitive, emotional, mental health and social issues, and support decision-making around discharge location and support required.
Professional supervision, training and development are integral to the service.
Excellent team-working skills, enthusiasm and energy are essential assets.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
