Transport Manager – Permanent – Shrewsbury
L & C Consulting are recruiting with a small, but rapidly growing business on the outskirts of Shrewsbury for a new Transport Manager. This brand new, hands on, transport / logistics / planning focused role will suit an experienced Transport / Planning & Logistics Manager who is looking for a role with a well-established, family owned, financially secure business.
Duties will include (but not be limited to):
* Allocate customer orders and plan relevant, cost effective routes
* Various admin duties including producing delivery notes, scanning, updating CRM etc
* Driver de-briefs / checking timesheets etc
* Manage fleet and drivers
* Communicate with customers
* Cost management
* Manage parts and workshop / maintenance
To be considered for this opportunity, you MUST have a proven background in transport / logistics / planning-based roles.
You will ideally hold a Transport Management CPC and also a valid HGV 1 licence for cover.
You’ll have a stable work history, be well organised, be IT literate and have excellent communication skills.
Hours of work are 08:00 – 17:00, Monday – Friday, with some flexibility required.
The Shrewsbury site is accessible from parts of Telford and is also commutable from Welshpool, Oswestry, Bridgnorth etc
