Job Title: Fire Risk Assessor – Department Lead (London & Surrounding Areas)
About Us
We are a young and ambitious Passive Fire Protection company with a growing reputation across London and the South East. Having built strong foundations in the fire safety sector, we are now looking to expand our services by creating a dedicated Fire Risk Assessment department – and we need the right person to lead it.
The Opportunity
This is not just another Fire Risk Assessor role. We are looking for a driven and experienced professional who wants to take ownership of a new department and grow it from the ground up. You'll have the full backing of our established team and client base, but the freedom to shape and run the FRA division your way.
For the right individual, this could evolve into something much bigger – including the potential for shareholding or business partnership. If you've ever wanted to build your own business, this could be your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do so while being paid and supported by an ambitious, successful team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the launch of our Fire Risk Assessment department.
* Carry out Type 1 and 2 Fire Risk Assessments across a range of commercial buildings, including schools, hospitals, offices, and residential blocks.
* (Desirable) Experience in Type 3–4 FRAs.
* Advise clients on fire safety compliance, remedial actions, and long-term risk management.
* Develop systems, processes, and best practices for FRA delivery.
* Support business development and help secure new opportunities.
* Build and mentor a future team of assessors as the department grows.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 5 years' experience delivering Fire Risk Assessments in commercial buildings.
* Recognised fire safety qualification/accreditation (e.g. IFE, IFSM, FRACS, FRAR) – desirable but not essential.
* In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation, Approved Documents, and relevant British Standards.
* Strong technical and report-writing skills.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to build and lead a department.
* Hands-on, proactive, and ambitious.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across London and the South East.
What We Offer
* Competitive pay package (details provided separately).
* All tools, equipment, and resources required to succeed.
* Genuine opportunity to build, shape, and lead a department.
* The potential for equity/shareholding with the right individual.
* Support from a forward-thinking and ambitious leadership team.
This is a rare opportunity to step up, make your mark, and potentially become a business leader in your own right.
Apply now with your CV and a short cover letter explaining why you're the right person to build and run our Fire Risk Assessment department.
