Personal Assistant
Personal Assistant needed to support a 7‑year‑old boy with autism and global developmental delay in the HU7 area of Hull. The role is 5 hours per week plus an additional 5 hours during school holidays.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal support to the child in a calm, structured environment.
* Assist with communication and reduce frustration through appropriate strategies.
* Encourage and facilitate enjoyment of activities such as train and bus rides, soft play areas, and water or sand play.
* Help manage transitions and reduce sensory overload in noisy or busy settings.
* Maintain a positive, patient approach to support the child’s daily needs.
Qualifications
* Understanding of autism spectrum conditions and complex support needs.
* Experience or training in working with children with developmental delays is desirable.
* Availability to work 5 hours per week plus an additional 5 hours during school holidays.
* Compliance with a Disclosure and Barring Service check, with the cost to be met by the local authority/employer.
Compensation & Hours
Rate of pay: £12.71 per hour. Hours: 5 hours per week plus an additional 5 hours during school holidays. Vacancies: 1.
