Outreach Case Worker

Salary:£27,783
Location:West Midlands - Covering Burton, Tamworth, Cannock, and Coventry

Contract: Fixed term for 2 years

Rebuilding your life after a custodial sentence is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it’s possible. We’re looking for a dedicated Case Worker to join our team—someone with a rare mix of compassion, resilience, organisation, and flexibility. This role is for a person who understands that rehabilitation isn't just about offering advice; it’s about actively supporting someone on their journey.

About the Role:

You will work from probation offices, providing one-to-one support to a caseload of participants as they reintegrate into society. As a key member of a dedicated team, you’ll help individuals overcome barriers, build confidence, and work towards training or employment, making meaningful steps toward rehabilitation.

You will also be required to attend custodial settings to provide through-the-gate support to prisoners and encourage them to attend one of our CFO Activity Hubs for ongoing help.

This is a demanding yet deeply rewarding role. You'll be working in a challenging environment with individuals who have complex needs and may be hesitant to engage. However, when you help someone break the cycle and take real steps toward transforming their life, the impact is truly life-changing—for them and for you.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Relationship Building: Foster genuine, trusting, and non-judgemental relationships with participants, creating a safe space for personal growth.
* Signposting: Refer and encourage participation with Ingeus’ Hub services and other suitable external support to support their rehabilitation.
* Action Planning: Formulate detailed action plans identifying specific needs and barriers, and support their transition.
* Caseload Management: Manage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while maintaining all related admin.
* Quality Recording: Keep thorough, up-to-date records of all work on our IT system, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and progress is properly tracked.

What We Are Looking For:

* Communication Skills: Ability to engage, motivate, persuade, and listen—building strong connections with those you support.
* Safeguarding Awareness: Ability to identify safeguarding risks when supporting complex individuals at challenging times.
* IT and Administrative Skills: Keeping meticulous records to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.
* Resilience: Staying committed and seeing things through despite challenges and timeframes.
* Travel: Ability to travel across various locations covered by the role.

What We Offer:

At Ingeus, we support our employees with a benefits package that promotes personal and professional well-being:

* 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with options for additional leave.
* EAP Support programme available 24/7, including 6 free counselling sessions.
* Private medical insurance and life assurance.
* Up to 2 days of Community Giving annually to support causes meaningful to you.
* Eyecare vouchers for glasses or eye care.
* Exclusive discounts via Perks at Work.
* Cycle to Work scheme and Travel season ticket loan.
* Long service awards to celebrate your commitment.
* Salary Finance for financial education and advice.
* Optional extra benefits like Critical Illness Cover and Dental Insurance.

Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an Enhanced Level 1 DBS check. During the background check process, you'll have opportunities to shadow colleagues, ask questions, and learn at your own pace.

Our Justice division is dedicated to transforming lives and creating safer communities. Our mission is to reduce reoffending, build stronger communities, and help people realize their potential.

About Ingeus:
