A leading specialist in Construction is currently seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join an expanding team in the North of England. This is a pivotal role for a professional who thrives on variety, balancing a strategic presence at the Leeds head office with high-impact, "boots on the ground" support across a diverse range of project sites.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative environment where safety is viewed as a cornerstone of operational excellence. This role is ideal for an individual who prefers a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to safety over a purely administrative one.
The Remit
Reporting to the Principal Health & Safety Manager, the Advisor will act as a key point of contact for site teams, ensuring that safety standards are not just met, but exceeded. Key responsibilities include:
*
Driving Culture: Promoting a positive, "safety-first" mindset across M&E projects, maintenance, and facilities management operations.
*
Site Assurance: Conducting regular site audits and inspections, producing high-quality reports that offer actionable insights.
*
Technical Review: Evaluating health and safety documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), to ensure compliance and practical application.
*
Engagement: Delivering engaging safety briefings and toolbox talks to a varied workforce.
*
Incident Management: Supporting incident investigations and maintaining professional liaison with clients and principal contractors.
The Ideal Profile
The company is looking for a confident, approachable professional who can work independently and build strong working relationships at all levels.
*
Qualifications: A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate is essential.
*
Experience: Previous experience within the construction industry is required, with a preference for those with an M&E background.
*
Mindset: A supportive, "solutions-focused" attitude. The Advisor should be able to provide practical assistance to real-life site challenges.
*
Backgrounds: Applications from Armed Forces leavers with relevant transferable skills and a commitment to health and safety are highly encouraged.
*
Logistics: A full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the Northern region are required.
