Overview

Scholars School System is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to support the provision of the Health and Social Care curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with a strong emphasis on teaching, learning, and related activities to support student academic experience. Reports to: Associate Dean and Head of Department.

Taught programs range from Foundation Year through to Level 7, delivered in partnership with institutions such as Leeds Trinity University. Responsibilities

* With oversight from the Head of Department and Year Lead, manage all aspects of the student academic journey, including maintaining accurate student records and overall student progression.
* Contribute through module and/or course leadership to maintain quality and achieve academic excellence.
* Contribute to the assessment process, including marking and moderation of work, individually or as part of a team in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
* Design and develop innovative, inclusive, and inspiring resources including e-learning.
* Act as a personal academic tutor where required to support individual learner progress.
* Ensure teaching, learning, and assessment activities meet the requirements of SSS quality assurance processes and external quality standards.
* Promote innovation and excellence in student education, maximizing the benefits of digital resources to support learning, with a focus on student partnership.
* Work with professional services staff and attend meetings to enhance the student journey.
* Carry out academic administrative duties and participate in relevant committees as required.
* Ensure teaching is informed by contemporary research, scholarship, knowledge exchange, and professional practice; develop students’ ability to engage in debate and critical thinking.
* Where appropriate, undertake research, scholarship, knowledge transfer, and dissemination through publication.
* Maintain personal and professional development to meet changing role demands; participate in appropriate training.
* Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion; foster an environment where students feel valued and have a sense of belonging.


Person Specification / Qualifications

* Masters’ degree in Health & Social Care or a health-related field.
* UK Teaching Experience (minimum 12 months).
* PGCert / Fellowship in FHCA (Highly Desirable).
* Enthusiasm for delivering a high-quality education experience.
* Proven ability in program development and educational pedagogy leadership.
* Experience supervising student work, marking, assessment, and providing feedback.
* Experience working with professional services to enhance student learning.
* Course leadership and module leadership experience desirable.
* Proficiency in using different technologies to deliver teaching and learning.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills.
* Creative thinking, vision, and willingness to innovate to solve problems.
* Ability to educate and engage students effectively and to demonstrate leadership in an academic setting.
* Proficient in English language, both spoken and written.

Salary and Benefits

* £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year (depending on qualifications and experience).
* Up to £5,000 annual incentives pro-rata, paid quarterly on meeting KPIs during probation (on top of salary).
* 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
* 5% annual increase per year on completion from start date and upon meeting KPIs.
* Complimentary lunch provided on working days.


Job Type & Requirements

* Full-time, Permanent.
* Basic hours: 9am to 6pm onsite.
* This role may involve travel to other campuses; travel costs reimbursed.
