EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full time Junior Accountant to join the Finance department.
Salary: $27.37- 35.04/ hour
Schedule: Flexible schedule between the hours of 8AM-6PM, Monday- Friday
Reports to: Accounting Manager
What drives the core purpose of this job:
The Junior Accountant is responsible for accounts receivable functions and for being the first-line agency liaison to EAC Network’s funders for assigned program contracts.
What are the key responsibilities:
* Accounts Receivable- creation and booking as assigned of certain predetermined claims (billing) associated with program contracts, including closeouts.
* Tracking and reporting of program expenses against the contracted budget.
* Assist with Finance department filing.
* Perform all other relevant duties as determined by supervisor.
What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:
* 3+ years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a not-for-profit setting required.
* Basic knowledge of accounting debits and credits.
* Payroll processing experience a plus.
* Possess good math skills, with an understanding of percentages and allocations.
* Proficient with computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office.
* Possess good communication, organizational, and data entry skills.
