Maintenance craftspersons will be employed on work appropriate to their core specialty. However, they will be progressively trained to acquire elements of each others skills with the intention of achieving a competent and flexible work force. Carry out electrical planned preventative maintenance work in accordance with Estates schedules and accepted good working practices in order to ensure safe and reliable engineering services. Where necessary, carry out fault diagnosis and repairs to the hospitals fixed electrical installations and portable equipment so as to maintain a safe and reliable service. To carry out electrical portable appliance testing in compliance with the Electricity at Work Act 1989 and the Estates Department schedule of inspection. Participate fully in all relevant estates procedures and ensure completion of all necessary documentation in accordance with Estates Department policies.
