Special educational needs Teaching assistant – Temp to perm We are working with a fantastic Alternative provision in the North Nottinghamshire area to find an experienced, enthusiastic and naturally caring experienced SEND teaching assistant to join them on a long term, part time basis (Weds-Fri) which could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate. In this role you will be working with pupils with additional needs or those who are unable to attend a school environment. To be a successful SEND teaching assistant, you will need – To have previous experience working with children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour. To have sensitivity and understanding To be patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. To have active listening skills To be able to look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare. To be flexible and open to change To have excellent verbal communication skills To be able to adapt teaching support according to student's needs. Other essential requirements include: Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the update service is an advantage but we can apply for one for you if needed. Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
