Role Title: Lead Portfolio Analyst
We anticipate paying a salary from £57,600 - £72,000 Doe
Location: Derby, Manchester OR Warrington offices
The Portfolio Analyst is accountable for providing portfolio management support to the Portfolio Manager and Programme and Project Delivery management support to the Delivery teams, enabling them with best practice process, practices and tools. They will also collaborate with the delivery teams to collect, analyse, and monitor project data and generate project progress reports. They will also support the team in the delivery of improvement initiatives
· Management of performance dashboards and generating reports to monitor the performance indicators and milestones achieved for projects in the DigIT portfolio.
· Reviewing projects prioritisation against business strategy and objectives
· Developing standards and processes to ensure a consistent method of delivery within the IT demand & delivery management processes.
· Engagement with the broader PMO function to ensure project performance is communicated in accordance with the reporting schedule and dependencies between portfolio's are identified and managed.
· Supporting the delivery teams with maintaining schedules and plans, financial monitoring, maintaining benefits, risks, actions and issues, dependency, and resource management as well as documentation and communication.
· Enable coaching, support and monitoring to project teams to ensure process knowledge and compliance
Essential Skills & Competencies
· Portfolio Management (POMG) – Oversees portfolio performance and alignment.
· Business Analysis (BUAN) – Applies analytical techniques to assess business impact.
· Information Management (IRMG) – Ensures effective use of data and information.
· Measurement (MEAS) – Designs and implements performance metrics.
· Data Visualisation (VISL) – Creates compelling visual representations of data.
· Analytics (INAN) – Applies statistical and predictive analytics to portfolio data.
· Advanced Excel: Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA, dynamic dashboards.
· Power BI: DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), data modelling, custom visuals, time series analysis.
· Data Governance: Understanding of data quality, lineage, and compliance.
· Project Tools: Familiarity with PPM tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure Dev Ops).
