Café supervisor/cook (would consider part time as well as full time applicants)
Job Description
To supervise café staff in the absence of the café manager. To oversee day to day operations of the café to the expected service standards. To order, prepare and serve food for customers.
Fixed term contract (to 31/3/26) to work at the Once Brewed Coffee and Bakehouse located at the Sill, National Landscape Discovery Centre.
Variable hours contract to include weekends.

Your role will be to:
* Ensure food and drink is prepared and served to required health and hygiene standards
* Place orders with suppliers
* Provide corporate catering and suitable options for allergens and other dietary requirements
* Help to create a menu that is popular and profitable and refresh it as necessary
* Manage customer feedback and complaints
* Prioritise duties and delegate work to colleagues
* Organise additional staffing cover where needed
* Balance till at the end of the day
* Train new staff members
* Liaise with guests in a professional, calm and friendly manner.
* Organise yourself to help in the smooth running of service & preparation of the café and events spaces.
* Serve food and drinks in a high pressure environment but always with a calm approach.
* Be flexible and willing to work evenings and regular weekends.
* Work with and support a large team of staff.
* Handle cash and card payments in a professional manner.
* Adhere to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety and hygiene.
* Any other duties in the absence of the café manager
You will need previous experience working in a busy kitchen, including the preparation of food.

Pay: £12.85-£13.05 per hour
