Nurse Functional Assessor
Working hours: Monday to Friday - 09:00 – 17:00
Hybrid working (combination of office and home based) – Monday to Friday
* PIP (disability assessments): 3 assessments per day, assessments are longer. Full Time, 9am-5pm 5 days, 37.5 hours - (£37,800); 4 days, 30 hours - (£30,240); 3 days, 22.5 hours - (£22,680); School hours 9.30am-2.30pm across 5 days, 25 hours - (£25,200).
* ESA (Employment Support Allowance): 6 assessments per day, assessments are shorter (~40 minutes). Full-time, 9am-5pm 5 days, 37.5 hours - (£39,500); 4 days, 30 hours - (£31,600); Part-time 3 days, 22.5 hours - (£23,700); School hours 9.30am-2.30pm across 5 days, 25 hours - (£26,330).

About the role
As a Nurse Functional Assessor at Maximus, you'll use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You'll work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders, with compassion and experience helping customers move forward.
The role includes a tailored training program: 6 weeks of training before assessing customers, with ongoing support and mentorship.
Duties and responsibilities
* Conduct assessments via telephone, video, or face-to-face to understand how disabilities or health conditions affect daily life.
* Produce reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to determine benefit eligibility.
* Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with feedback and supervision.
Requirements
* Valid NMC registration.
* At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience, within or outside the NHS.
* You must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorships are not available.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Comfortable using computer software to produce detailed reports.
