You may be required to work at any location within the company, your base will be Hardknott Road. A current, full, UK driving licence is required for this role. The ability to drive a company vehicle which will be provided for business use only.
Physical Conditions:
Work is performed in standing and sitting positions. The work is undertaken indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
This role will also includes on call shifts.
Core tasks:
* To carry out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasked, which will be varied in nature and will include general building, hard/soft landscaping, joinery, tiling, painting, paving and external works, drainage and plumbing, as directed by the Estates & Facilities Manager, Maintenance & Projects Officer or Senior Maintenance Operative.
* To carry out planned preventative building maintenance in line with set programmes.
* To carry out repairs and/or replace all associated plumbing work where necessary.
* To repair or renew foul water pipes and drainage work and components.
* To report any faults or potential faults relating to water and heating systems
* To carry out small plumbing installations to include: bathroom/kitchen refurbishments, and the repair or renewal of non-gas or electrical components of heating systems.
* Undertake general facilities support tasks, including furniture building and furniture removals, grounds and site clearance, and keeping areas clean and tidy generally.
* Work individually or as part of a team to complete repair and maintenance tasks
* Ensure a safe environment for staff, people we support and visitors by carrying out regular checks and adhering to health and safety regulations.
* To comply with Health and Safety Guidelines and work instructions issued by Senior Management.
* Work with various different types of machinery and equipment.
* Report to the Head of Estates & Facilities or Estates & Facilities Supervisor, any other internal or external damage to the buildings, property or site.
* To liaise with outside contractors or inspectors when requested.
* Maintain accurate records with regard to ongoing building or grounds maintenance works.
* To undertake basic mandatory training and development training where deemed appropriate.
* You will be required to participate in on call duties on a weekly rota basis during weekday evenings and at weekends.
* In exceptional circumstances, the General Maintenance Operative may be called in during off duty hours, to help deal with an emergency.
