Registered with the CQC for 16 residents, we provide high-quality care and support for adults aged 18 and over who are living with a range of complex mental health needs, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and anxiety-related conditions. Job Description
Aston House Care Ltd is a dedicated mental health care home in Hereford, fulfilling lives by offering comprehensive and person-centred care to individuals with enduring mental health conditions and learning disabilities. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to join our committed staff team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who shares our values and wants to play a key leadership role in supporting both staff and service users.
We work the following shift patterns:
* Early shift: 08:00 – 14.30
* Late shift: 14.30 – 21.30
* Night shift: 21.30 – 08.30
This Team Leader role will involve working 4 shifts per week plus the possibility of sleep shifts, with flexibility to cover additional shifts when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct and oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
* Perform regular medication audits to maintain safe and effective practices
* Carry out staff supervisions and annual appraisals, ensuring team members receive support and guidance in their roles
* Promote and enforce company policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control
* Support new staff during induction and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring
* Contribute to individualised care planning and risk assessments
* Lead shifts effectively, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high standards of care
* Communicate effectively with families, professionals, and external agencies
Experience and Requirements
* Minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care
* Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within a mental health care setting is essential
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
* A caring, patient and professional attitude is essential
* A solid understanding of mental health conditions and recovery-focused care approaches
