Job Title: Receptionist/Medical Secretary

London Bridge Healthcare is part of Richmond Pharmacology and is a new state of the art private medical clinic based near London Bridge station. Our team specialise in a variety of medical services including Varicose Vein Treatment, Coronary Health Checks, Gynaecology, Dermatology and Hand and Wrist pain.
The Role:
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and detail-oriented Receptionist/Medical Secretaryto join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support to our team of consultants and clinical staff to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic. You will need a general understanding of CQC compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction
* Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner.
* Answer and direct phone calls and manage patient inquiries.
* Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation.
* Scheduling appointments
Administrative Duties
* Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
* Handle billing and insurance claims, including verifying patient insurance information.
* Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow and appointment scheduling. This will include scheduling of procedures in theatre along with consultations.
* Manage office supplies and ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable at all times.

o Registering new patients, dealing with referrals from professionals,
o Preparing files for clinic, filing (electronic / paper)
o Maintaining clinical management system (DGL, iComply or similar)
* Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and other team members.
Technical Skills
*
o Familiarity with private practice systems and patient management platforms (e.g., DGL or similar)
o Familiar with compliance software
o Electronic dictation
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a medical secretary in private practice
* Experience using an electronic patient records system
* Experience scheduling consultations and theatre bookings
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology
* Demonstrate ability to pay good attention to detail, reliably check and record data and identify anomalies and be able to self-check completed work
* Diary Management; booking appointments, meetings - taking pre-payments, confirming appointments including managing telemedicine links.
* Invoicing (Bupa, PMI billing portals)
* Have the ability to organise, plan and prioritise time effectively
* Audit & CQC Regulatory experience (an advantage)
